Osteopathy
Cranial and Structural

Osteopathy is a form of alternative medicine that uses a patient focused, physical approach to examine, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health problems and conditions. Osteopaths use a combination of movement, stretching, targeted deep tissue massage and manipulation of a person’s muscles and joints to improve function, relieve pain and, most importantly, support the body's ability to heal itself. Our aim is to help promote physical and psychosocial well being.

Remedial Massage
(Abshot Osteopathy, Hampshire only)

Remedial (deep tissue) Massage is one of the most effective and readily available ways to prevent and treat muscle injury, pain and soreness. It is based on the fact that soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) respond well to touch. As a remedial massage therapist Andrea will assess and perform some tests to work out which muscles are giving you trouble and will tailor a treatment plan to suit your needs.

Sports Massage
(Abshot Osteopathy, Hampshire only)

Sports Massage was originally developed from remedial massage to help sports men and women prepare their bodies to perform to the best of their ability, to recover following a big event, or function optimally during training. Sports massage aims to prevent and heal injuries to the muscles and tendons.
However, it is not just athletes that benefit from a sports massage. Sports massage is also good for anyone an injury, restricted movement or chronic pain.

Paediatric Osteopathy
Infant Feeding Coach

Birth can cause infants to have some strains and tensions, which may make them uncomfortable. Osteopathic treatment may help your child to overcome the musculoskeletal strains that they may still be experiencing from birth. This can help the baby to settle, relax and feed more easily. Gentle techniques will be tailored to your child’s’ needs and everything will be fully explained throughout.  The treatments we offer are suited to treat children of any age.
