What to expect
At HB Osteopathy, I take the time to understand you as our patient, Everyone presents with their own unique combination of symptoms, medical history and lifestyle. Understanding this helps me to make a more accurate diagnosis of the causes of the pain or lack of function you may be experiencing rather than just addressing the site of the condition. From this, I will formulate a treatment plan and help you to achieve the best outcome
I work well alongside other medical practitioners including GPs, Physiotherapists, Midwives, Nutritionists and other alternative and complimentary medicines. Furthermore osteopathy can compliment other medical interventions including surgery and medication

The Initial ConsultationYour first appointment will be a longer session. This allows us time to talk through the important details relating to you.
Case HistoryHere we will discuss why you have come to see me and any details that might be relevant to your case; such as when it started, what happened, how severe the pain is, and how much of an impact it is having on your daily life.
Past Medical History
We will run through your medical history whether you have had any previous accidents; suffer with any illnesses or have had any serious accidents in your life. We will also enquire about family history, lifestyle and exercise routines you may have.
|
ExaminationWe will conduct a few gentle tests relevant to your case to help clarify our findings and diagnosis and to make sure that your condition is safe to treat.
What to WearAs Osteopathy relies on the ability to be able to work with your body, we do ask you to undress down to an appropriate level, ideally underwear. However our aim is for you to be as relaxed as possible so if you are not comfortable doing this, we recommend you wear some shorts or leggings. Sports bras are also fine.
Continuing AppointmentsFollow up appointments will be slightly shorter as we will have already been through your condition and will be mainly focused on continuing your treatment
